Movie Duration and Expectations
So, I was thinking that Mel Gibson has stretched this 1.5-hour movie. What all will he show in 1.5 hours? What all can they do inside a plane to survive, for how long, or how can they save themselves from each other? I mean, what all instances can happen? It was interesting to watch this in 1.5 hours of this movie.
At some places, the movie becomes a bit dull, but when these people struggle with different problems, it makes this movie interesting.
Mark Wahlberg has done a shockingly amazing job in the movie, and the first thing you will notice will be their body. At first, I thought they must have used some makeup or a bald cap or a face to look bold, but no, not at all—they have really made themselves bold for this movie. I mean, dedication!
However, this dedication does not make much difference in this movie because I did not find their screen time and role very interesting. In fact, much of the movie is mainly about our lead, Madeline Harris.
We got to know about her past, we see why she got this assignment, and how she saves this witness and, of course, herself with her intelligence. This aspect of the story can be said to be quite interesting to watch.
The ending of the movie was also quite surprising and shocking because, just when we think that the movie is over, we get a shocking twist.
So, even after some dull moments, the movie keeps you hooked.
All the scenes and scenery of the planes were worth watching.
To reduce the seriousness of the movie and add a little fun element, two things were added: first, Mark Wahlberg talking in a strange way, which totally fails, and second, our lead talking to a pilot, which definitely adds a little fun element to the movie. But according to me, more of this was needed in such movies.
Talking about action, there wasn’t much action in the movie. Yes, there is definitely some tension at the end of the movie, but if you’re going to watch the movie for action, you will be disappointed. I mean, the script of the movie was such that there wasn’t much to show in terms of action.
Still, this movie deserves some praise because I thought the movie would lose interest after 40 or 50 minutes, but I have to praise Mel Gibson for stretching it to one and a half hours.
According to me, this is a one-time watchable movie, and hence, keeping all these things in mind, I will rate it 6 out of 10.
