Synopsis

Mufasa, a cub lost and alone, meets a sympathetic lion named Taka, the heir to a royal bloodline. The chance meeting sets in motion an expansive journey of a group of misfits searching for their destiny.

liveaction Lion King movie so when this movie Young Mufasa gets separated from his parents runs across another Cub named taka who is yes he’s young Scar and their pals are they Brothers well I suppose the best family is the family you could could choose but they’re not technically Brothers which is I know it’s kind of lame but okay but Mufasa has the leadership compassion empathy skills to be king damn near has Daredevil skills in this movie to be honest with you he learned them from the females cuz he was supposed to hang out with the females he was not worthy to hang out with the males scar learned what he learned in life cuz he hung out with the dead beat males so now there’s this new vicious pack of lions the leader vo by mads melson and they’re just taking over so Mufasa and Tako are on the Run look for this new glorious land the name I forget but it’s what we know is the pride lands and all the while their their crew starts growing because they’re picking up crew that we know is characters from the original Lion King felt like it

a while for me to get there explaining the plot to be fair the movie takes a while to get there too in fact when I walked out of this movie I had that feeling of so what really was the point of this but first credit where credits du the animation looks really good again so good it’s an animated film that’s scen as live action but it’s not live action at all least Avatar has human characters that Jungle Book movie human character but again and they do improve on one of the problems from the previous iveaction Lion King movie is animation affords itself the opportunity to overexpress for the characters to have exaggerated expression the likes of which you only see in animation or Jim Carrey films now credit where credits do the lions in this movie they do emote more and better than they did the previous liveaction Lion King movie I get it for the previous movie they wanted to make it as realistic as is possible Lions don’t really Express and well that’s kind of a problem because they come across as boring and it does feel like someone heard the feedback took that into account and decided to make these characters emote more than they did in the previous film again not like animation but still there’s a solid 15% more emotion I can see in the characters in this movie than the previous one but yeah the star of the movie is the CGI the animation like there’s a scene where Rafiki is doing snow angels in the snow I was like it’s it’s mental it looks like a monkey doing snow angels the way the snow is interacting with his body it’s just wild here were a couple of overhead shots I was like is that complete again they stand out as anomalies cuz the rest of the animation’s pretty awesome that the voice acting was solid I thought Aaron Pierre was good as young Mufasa because he’s not going to feel like James Earl Jones he has to feel like this character who becomes the James Earl Jones Mufasa I thought he was good vulnerable but had leadership quality Kelvin Harrison Jr is young scar you know as the movie goes on his voice sounds more you know scarice at a point I I started hearing Jeremy iron scar in there I was like well Chi tell e for was Scar in The not liveaction but liveaction Lion King movie though my brain might be filling in that Gap as I just know Jeremy Irons as Scar the most but really the movie is this they go from point A to point B and they start meeting characters that we know from The Lion King and that’s the point of the movie not that a movie movie about a fellowship going on a quest across the lands from point A to point B is inherently bad can think of one in particular that did it pretty well but that was a byproduct of the larger point of the film aside from hey this is how they all met remember them from Lion King I remember and it’s a problem I didn’t ask how they all met I never cared how they all met I just know that they’re all together in The Lion King could be they met on a quest on a journey at a party at a job every person story and situation indeed has a backstory as to how they got there it’s just a fact of life with that established another fact of life is not very backstory needs to be told in cinematic fashion as for the music it’s all right it largely runs into what a lot of movies lately actually have run into Gladiator 2 being one what was the other one recently Lord of the Rings war of the r here him where the familiar sounds and familiar tracks from the movie they’re springboarding off of that’s what stands out and that’s when you get the feels rest of the original stuff yeah it’s there funny thing is Lyn Manuel Miranda did the original music you know when they’re all walking around talking and someone just bust into a song and dance or at the very least song like they do in The Lion King they do in here which also to the point in The Lion King you have animation which really brings you into it so Lyn Manuel Miranda does that music in Mufasa The Lion King word it is that’s the reason he couldn’t do the music in Moana too I do feel like if Linn Manuel Miranda did the music in Moana 2 it would have had a Synergy to it it would have felt like it fit better there because he did do the music in the first Moana on the other hand the music in Mufasa The Lion King doesn’t feel like Lion King music it feels like Lyn Manuel Miranda music he actually kind of hits a double negative one because it doesn’t feel like Lion King music and two aside from that it doesn’t stand out as anything special you could be like hey it doesn’t sound like Lion King music but it is really catchy I’ll buy that soundtrack no I just don’t feel that urge here really this is a half an hour episode of a Lion King show that doesn’t really exist so they had to do this so they had to pad the runtime to be fair there’s enough padding in here to where it didn’t have to be over 90 minutes things that pad the runtime are this is a story that Rafiki is telling Timone Pumba and Simba’s child and at a point I remember thinking we haven’t even gotten into the story we’re still hanging out with Timone and Pumba right now could have cut that out and every time it cut back to Timone and Pumba again I was like this is just taking up time in the end mufas of The Lion King is a movie it’s a movie that’s made with the same purity of heart we’ve seen from a lot of other films cuz a studio said we need to cash out and we need to cash out now and when the liveaction not live action but it’s called live action Lion King becomes one of the top 10 highest grossing films of all time well this is what we get quite frankly it doesn’t really sound like Barry Jenkins had a good time making it either I mean Christmas is coming up families love going to the movie theaters for Christmas but if you’re looking for a movie this just I can’t say this is the one because this a movie I’m not going to remember in T-minus one day he already forgot even scar getting his name just felt for wor and awkward was really weird how you going to screw that up of all the things in this movie don’t make that feel out of place all right so Mufasa The Lion King have you seen it what did you think about it or what’s a requel film of any franchise anything out there that you would like to see that would feel Justified hopefully whatever it is whatever you think comment below let me know and as always if
